Smart Tech You Should Invest In

Technology has come a long way some of it good, and some of it serves as more of a distraction than anything else. In this blog post, we’re focusing on the good that has been brought by technology. We’ve made a list of the top three pieces of smart technology you should install in your home.

Smoke Detector

In the United States, fire departments respond to an average of one residential fire every 88 seconds. These residential fires kill thousands and result in billions of dollars in damage. But installing smoke detectors in every room of your home can cut the risk of death in a home fire in half. These detectors warn anyone in the home of the fire and give them extra time to escape the danger.

Most smoke detectors are relatively inexpensive and easy to install, look into purchasing some today.

CO2 Detector

Carbon monoxide is often referred to as a silent and invisible killer because it is a scentless, tasteless, clear gas that has the ability to kill if it goes undetected. Poisoning by carbon monoxide is one of the most common forms of poisoning in the United States.

Carbon monoxide is released anytime you burn gasoline, wood, oil, propane, or charcoal. This is usually not an issue in outdoor spaces because the gas has the ability to dissipate into the air, but indoors it carries much more substantial risk. The most dangerous place for carbon monoxide is in your home, or garage because the gas is trapped there.

Installing one of these could save your household from unnecessary health risks and even death.

Smart Thermostat

While your smart thermostat might not provide any life-saving relief, it can save you a great deal of time, money, and energy. With a smart thermostat, you can program the temperature of your home even when you’re not inside of it. This means that if you realize the AC is running and you’re not even there to enjoy it, you can turn the AC off. Certain models of these thermostats can even learn your behavior, so they know your schedule and will have the house cool for you when you arrive home and will shut off at the approximate time that you leave your home every morning.
